The traditional Greek sandal found in the alleys of the islands, is a timeless product linked to Greece’s identity. Mavro, preserves this historic concept in a version of higher quality and elegance.

All sandals are handmade in Greece in our Workshop using a range of fine genuine leather. The top is made from natural vegetable-tanned vachetta leather. This type of leather is untreated and darkens with age and sunlight creating a patina. These subtle variations in shading and texture over time add to the sandals unique identity and beauty.

The shoes are made of premium Greek vegetative tanned leather.
– Our leather is colored only with natural extracts from plants by ancient recipes in Creta Island (Greece), and not like the majority of shoes from cheap chemically treated leather.
– They are handmade. Not mass production.
– The Goat leather is very soft and will not ulcerate your feet and at the same time does not stretch.
– Extremely durable. These shoels are designed for all-day walks. You will wear them the next 3-4 years.
